H. Gene Lawson Jr. has over 30 years of Revenue Cycle Management experience. He has over 20 years at the Vice President level, both PB and HB, with 18 of those years on Epic. He has helped 16 hospitals implement Epic.

Lawson has had responsibility for many departments that span the revenue cycle. Departments such as Central Scheduling, Central Financial Clearance, Financial Counselors, Patient Access Services, HIM, Hospital Coding, Professional Coding, Revenue Integrity, CDM, CDI, Case Management, Contract management, Hospital Billing, Professional Billing, Denial Management, Customer Service, and Cash/payment posting.

Lawson helped Lahey Health System obtain the number one spot for best performing revenue cycle in all of Epic for three years. He was honored while at Parkland Health System in Dallas by the CEO and Executive Team and the County Commissioners with a “Gene Lawson Day” in Dallas County.

He has a B.S from The University of Tennessee and a Master’s Degree from Tennessee State in Nashville. He also studied at Vanderbilt University, and The University of Maryland. Lawson is also a Six sigma Black Belt.
